Rock Band Camp Areas of Focus

Learn and play Your Influences

Groups choose their favorite songs to learn and master. Students receive individual guidance and work on their parts in the group while focusing on tone, rhythm, harmony, technique, and lyrics.

CREATING AND ARRANGING YOUR SONG

Band coaches help musicians create their own songs, working together to make choices about style, instrumentation, and final song structure. Students with songs and parts already in development are encouraged to bring their work in with them.

End-of-Camp PERFORMANCE

Students become familiar with recording their music and playing in front of an audience. By the end of the week, bands use Replay Music Studios’ one-of-a-kind audio/video system to capture high quality live sound and video–easily downloaded to share. Participants give a live performance for their family and friends.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Each semester we offer a series of workshops to give young musicians (8-18) an opportunity to dig deeper into specific topics and musical experiences. These 1.5 hour workshops, generally on Sundays, are FREE for kids in our Band Coaching program and cost $40 otherwise. Some level of experience is required for most workshops.

The Reviews Are In

Creative Process

“Acquainting oneself with the arts outside of a traditional classroom environment gives kids more autonomy in the creative process, which yields results that can be applied away from the studio.”

Next Level

“While Replay also functions as rehearsal space for adult musicians, Mare and John the lovely owners, are always on site so there is never a worry about safety or supervision. Coming to Replay Friday afternoons is the highlight of my son’s week. If you are looking for a safe happy place where your young musician can take his craft to the next level, you just found it!”

Marian

Parent of a child in the Band Coaching program

Remarkable Progress

“John combines his expertise in drumming and teaching with a great sense of humor, which results in high quality, fun lessons. The progress my daughter made was remarkable. John’s lessons are above and beyond teaching technique and providing a solid base to build upon: his experience as a performer and attention to individual needs allowed for lessons specifically geared to prepare for upcoming performances.”

Stephanie

Parent of John Rubin’s drum student
